Raghav Goyal is an Indian cricketer known for his left-arm wrist-spin bowling. He came into the spotlight when his performances in domestic T20 cricket attracted the attention of IPL scouts. His journey became more notable in 2023 when Mumbai Indians bought him for ₹20 lakh and gave him an opportunity to play in the Indian Premier League.
Raghav comes from Panipat, Haryana, and started playing cricket at a young age. Unlike many players who spend several years playing senior-level domestic cricket before reaching the IPL, Raghav received his IPL opportunity relatively early. He made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians against Chennai Super Kings on 6 May 2023.
By 2026, Raghav Goyal is 25 years old. He has also continued his cricket journey in Puducherry competitions, where his left-arm wrist spin has produced useful performances, including an 11-wicket campaign in the 2026 Pondicherry Premier League.
There are different birth dates mentioned on some websites. The Mumbai Indians and IPL player profiles list his date of birth as 20 June 2001, and this article follows that official team-profile information.
Who Is Raghav Goyal?

Panipat is a city with a strong sporting culture, and Raghav’s rise to professional cricket gave the city another name to follow in Indian cricket. His early cricket training took place away from Panipat, at the Vijay Yadav Cricket Academy in Faridabad.
One interesting part of Raghav’s story is that his rise to the IPL came without a long senior-level first-class career. His performances in T20 cricket helped him move quickly into the spotlight.
Early Life and Childhood
Raghav Goyal developed an interest in cricket at a young age. He reportedly started learning the game seriously when he was around 11 years old.
As his interest grew, cricket became more than just a school activity. He worked on his bowling and eventually trained at the Vijay Yadav Cricket Academy in Faridabad. The academy environment helped him develop his skills and gave him opportunities to play competitive cricket.
Raghav’s development also shows how T20 cricket can create opportunities for young players. His ability to bowl economically and trouble batters with wrist spin became one of the main features of his game.
Before his IPL selection, he had not established a long first-class career. Instead, his performances in shorter-format cricket helped him attract attention.
Education and Early Interests
Information about Raghav Goyal’s educational background is not as widely available as information about his cricket career. His early interest in cricket eventually developed into professional training, domestic cricket opportunities and, finally, an IPL contract.

Raghav Goyal Career Journey
Starting Cricket at a Young Age
Raghav’s cricket journey began during his childhood. He started learning cricket at around 11 years old and gradually moved from basic training to more competitive cricket.
His development as a left-arm wrist spinner became an important part of his identity as a player. Wrist spin can be difficult for batters because the bowler can create changes in angle, trajectory and turn.
Training at Vijay Yadav Cricket Academy
Raghav received training at the Vijay Yadav Cricket Academy in Faridabad. This period played an important role in improving his bowling.
Academy cricket helped him gain match experience and learn how to perform against competitive opponents. He also became involved with teams such as Reliance 1 and Sukhna Zone.
Rise Through T20 Cricket
Raghav’s biggest early breakthrough came in the 2023 DY Patil T20 tournament.
During the tournament, he took five wickets and maintained an economy rate of approximately 6.90. For a young spin bowler, keeping the scoring rate under control in T20 cricket is particularly valuable.
His performances attracted the attention of IPL scouts and eventually led to his selection by Mumbai Indians.
Mumbai Indians IPL Selection
Mumbai Indians bought Raghav Goyal for ₹20 lakh at the 2023 IPL auction.
The move was an important turning point in his career. He joined one of the most recognised franchises in the IPL and got the chance to train alongside experienced international and Indian players.
For Raghav, the IPL environment also provided an opportunity to learn from established spin bowlers and experienced coaches.
IPL Debut Against Chennai Super Kings
Raghav made his IPL debut on 6 May 2023 against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
He bowled his full quota of four overs and finished with figures of 0 wickets for 33 runs.
Although the numbers were not spectacular, simply reaching the IPL playing XI was a major milestone because he had made the jump from a relatively low-profile domestic background to the biggest T20 competition in India.
Continued Domestic Cricket
After his IPL experience, Raghav continued playing competitive T20 cricket.
He became associated with Puducherry cricket and later appeared in the Pondicherry Premier League. His performances in the 2026 tournament showed that he was still developing as a competitive T20 bowler.
In the 2026 Pondicherry Premier League, he took 11 wickets in 28 overs, with best bowling figures of 3/42 and an economy rate of 7.71.
His performances included a particularly impressive spell in the tournament final, where he took 2 wickets for 22 runs in four overs.
Raghav Goyal’s 2026 Pondicherry League Journey
The 2026 season was an important chapter in Raghav’s career because he was able to contribute regularly with the ball.
His ability to take wickets while keeping the scoring rate under control made him a useful option in the middle overs. In T20 cricket, this is often the phase where spinners are expected to slow down the opposition and create opportunities.
His three-wicket performance during the league stage and two-wicket performance in the final showed his ability to contribute in pressure situations.
Career Stats
The following figures combine his known IPL record with his 2026 Pondicherry Premier League performance.
| Competition | Matches/Record | Overs | Runs Conceded | Wickets | Best Bowling | Economy |
| IPL | 1 | 4 | 33 | 0 | 0/33 | 8.25 |
| Pondicherry Premier League 2026 | Tournament campaign | 28 | — | 11 | 3/42 | 7.71 |
| 2026 PPL Final | 1 | 4 | 22 | 2 | 2/22 | 5.50 |
His IPL batting record is very limited because he was used primarily as a bowler and did not get a batting opportunity in his only IPL appearance.
Wife, Relationships and Personal Life
Raghav Goyal is generally described as unmarried in publicly available biographical information.
There is no reliable public confirmation of a wife, engagement or long-term relationship. Some websites may mention rumours or unverified relationship details, but these should not be treated as established facts.
Raghav has kept his personal life relatively private. Most of the information available about him focuses on cricket, training, tournaments and his professional journey.
For this reason, it is better to avoid attaching a relationship to his name unless Raghav himself publicly confirms it.

Playing Style and Strengths
Raghav Goyal is primarily known for his left-arm wrist spin.
Left-arm wrist spin can be challenging for batters because the delivery can move away or into the batter depending on the type of ball and the bowler’s release. It also provides a different angle compared with conventional left-arm orthodox spin.
His major strengths include:
- Left-arm wrist spin: His bowling style gives his team a different option.
- Economical bowling: He has shown the ability to control runs in T20 cricket.
- Middle-over bowling: His style is suited to the period when teams try to build or accelerate an innings.
- Variation: Wrist spin allows changes in flight, speed and turn.
- Competitive mindset: His performances in pressure games have helped him remain relevant in domestic T20 cricket.
- Batting ability: Although primarily a bowler, he bats left-handed and has shown that he can contribute with the bat when required.
Raghav’s cricket idols have been reported to include Shane Warne and Rashid Khan, two players famous for their mastery of spin bowling.
Lifestyle, House and Car Collection
Raghav Goyal does not have the kind of public celebrity lifestyle associated with India’s biggest cricket stars. He has maintained a relatively low-profile public image.
There is no reliable, detailed public information about a specific luxury house owned by him or a confirmed collection of expensive cars.
Because many online celebrity websites publish estimated property and car information without strong evidence, such claims should be treated carefully. At present, it is more accurate to say that his house and car collection have not been publicly documented in detail.
His lifestyle is more closely connected with cricket training, fitness, travel for tournaments and professional commitments.
Net Worth, Salary and Income Sources
Raghav Goyal’s exact net worth is not publicly disclosed.
His most clearly reported IPL earnings came from his Mumbai Indians contract, where he was bought for ₹20 lakh in the 2023 auction.
His possible income sources can include:
- IPL contract earnings
- Domestic cricket match fees
- League contracts
- Tournament payments
- Cricket-related appearances
- Potential sponsorships or endorsements
However, there is no reliable public figure for his current total annual income or net worth in 2026.
It is also important to remember that an IPL auction price does not automatically equal a player’s total yearly income. Taxes, fees, contract conditions and other professional expenses can affect the amount a player actually retains.
